5 Best AEW matches so far

AEW has absolutely taken the wrestling world by complete storm. And has a good reason to. Seen as the first true competitor to WWE since WCW in 2001, AEW has one sole mission: To be themselves. That may include some digs at WWE here and there, but hey. For the most part, they know their lane and stay in it. With that said, we're gonna' take a look at the 5 best AEW matches...So far.

5. Cody vs Darby Allin (Fyter Fest)
If this match was design strictly to get over Darby Allin, they more than succeeded. In a match where no one expected them to go the full Time Limit, they did. And they did it with so much heart behind it, I'd pay top dollar to see them do it again. When you mix a guy like Cody and a guy like Darby, you don't expect them to have a such a high caliber match. And that's where we're all wrong. It's not about the "Win" or the "Loss." It was about showing the emotion in the ring. And I get the feeling that another match on this list will have plenty of that.

4. Jon Moxley vs Joey Janela (Fyter Fest)
If you're looking for a match that had it all, this could very well be the match for you. In what was seen as a Hardcore fans dream, Janela and Moxley through pretty much everything they had at one another. And it was fun to watch through and through. Their wasn't too much importance to this match other than both guys having fun. In my opinion, this match could be viewed as Moxley's "liberation match" from WWE. It showcases the real talent he has, and the fun way to really book him.

3. The Young Bucks vs Private Party (10/9 /19 Dynamite)
This match was the opening match in the tournament for the AEW Tag Team Championships. And in a match where The Young Bucks were widely regarded as the team to win, they lost. And you'd think it's a match where you would just be on your phone, texting your dog. You're wrong on both accounts. Private Party won, and dogs can't text. Anyway, it had everything you could want in a Tag Team match. It had the acrobatics, it had close calls, and more importantly it had passion. Something I personally feel, is lacking in todays landscape. But it was designed to get Private Party over, and it did. Well done.

2. The Young Bucks vs The Lucha Bros (All Out)
I'm not one for defending another promotions titles on a different show, but this may be the only exception to that. In a match that was touted as the best ladder match since The Hardyz and The Dudleyz, these two teams put it all on the line. It was like a car wreck that had no real end to it. Even when The Lucha Bros regained their titles, it only made me want to watch the match even more. And The Young Bucks can make anyone look good, and this is a prime example.

1. Cody Vs Dustin (Double Or Nothing)
Would you believe me if I said in 2019, Dustin Rhodes would have a Match of the Year candidate? The answer likely is no, but here we are. Facing brother Cody in what will be billed as the biggest match of their careers for a while, both men left it all in the ring. And it showed how much they really care for AEW, and the direction it is headed. After the match with Dustin bleeding profusely, they embraced in a hug that was well received by the fans. You can't deny the storybook ending this all had. That was until Shawn Spears had to ruin everything. Because he's a fun ruiner. And also stole my wife Peyton Royce.
