5 PPV Names you won't believe

In the spirit of WWE announcing their June PPV entitled "Stomping Grounds," it got me thinking two things: One, how on bloody Earth can they call it "Stomping Grounds," when Tacoma Washington is far, far from a place WWE would call home. And secondly, what other bad PPV names were there? Well, today we are gonna' look at 5 PPV names you won't believe existed!

5. WWE This Tuesday In Texas
Back in the 80's, WWE was trying some pretty experimental things. And this idea was one of them. Hailed as a "secondary PPV" show type of night, "This Tuesday In Texas" proved two things. That they had zero intent on calling it anything catchy, and that Tuesday nights was just not a good PPV night. For example, if I want to watch a premium show, it better be on a non-worknight. I'm looking at you, Sundays. It's kind of hard to believe this was show that featured Hulk Hogan vs a new Undertaker for the WWE Championship. What a crazy, crazy world.

4. WCW Beach Blast
This one isn't as bad considering when it took place. In the 80's, every event had some sort of over-the-top, cheesy name. And "Beach Blast" was just another victim. WCW had 2 "Beach Blast" shows, with one featuring Rick Rude and Ricky Steamboat going in an Iron Man Match. Amazing how far wrestling has really come. The event subsequently dropped and renamed "Bash at the Beach," and the rest was history.

3. WCW Collision in Korea

Sticking with WCW this one just makes me want to scratch my head. The word "collision" could signify something catastrophic is going to happen. And it that's what they're going with, maybe they shouldn't have chosen a country that's seen various wars. On the bright side, however it did feature Ric Flair vs Antonio Inoki. Man, what is with these shows having badass matches? And why aren't they talked about more?

2.ECW The Doctor Is In
This one is cheating a bit. Although this wasn't an actual PPV, it was supershow. And it's my list. So I make the rules. Anyway, it's a little maddening they named this "The Doctor is In." Given the extreme nature of ECW, shouldn't they not want doctors? Why would they want a doctor to be "In," when it's SUPPOSED to be hardcore? Did he buy a ticket? Is that how he watched? I need answers! Paul...You owe me.

1. WWE Great Balls of Fire
Did you REALLY think I was going to forget this one? Panned by just about everybody, we all felt like it was joke. The running joke was maybe it was a catchphrase Vinnie Mac used backstage so much that he eventually had an event named after the famous song. Either way, the show itself was okay. It saw Bork Laser defeat Jonathon from Samoa for the Universal Title in just about 6 minutes. The main grab was The Bar facing The Hardyz in a 30 Minute Iron Tag Match. Overall, check out the show...Just ignore the name.

And that's the list! Have any you want to add? Feel free to add them below, or on our Twitter
